 Suji ka Halwa Recipe (Sheera)

    Suji ka Halwa is made from semolina, Flavored with kessar/saffron and other spices topped with nuts. suji is served as a breakfast or desert item. suji ka halwa also eat with poori in Maharashtra. its also served in Europe and United states as semolina pudding.

Suji ka Halwa Recipe (sheera) शीरा


Ingredients :

  • 1 Cup Sooji (Semolina/Rava)
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 10 Cashew Nuts, Halved
  • 1/2 tsp Saffron
  • 3 Table spoon raisins. 

How to Make Suji Ka Halwa :

  1. First on need one Sauce Pan, add some water, Milk, Sugar, and Cardamom in a pan add stirring until the sugar Melts.
  2. keep that Liquid of mixture a side on simmer in another stove.
  3. In another stove need Heavy Bottom Pan, add Ghee and Suji (Semolina/ rava) and roast until the suji  (Semolina/Rava) gives out roasted and also turn light brown color.
  4. Gradually begin to stir in the Hot Liquid mixture and take care in a medium heat.will splutter around as you pour the hot liquid and Suji (Semolina/Rava).
  5. Keep stirring the mixture and the Suji (Semolina/ Rava) will Continue to thicken. Once it has thickened it will begin to leave the sides of the Pan.
  6. Cover the Pan and simmer for a couple of minutes stirring Occasionally.
  7. Now suji(Semolina/rava) Cooked and when you stir the whole mixture come away from the sides of the pan.
  8. after that turn of the heat and cover the pan with a lid and let the Suji ka halwa rest for a few minutes
  9. In other small pan heat the ghee on medium heat add the cashew nuts and raisins and roast them until cashew nuts turn Golden Brown Color.
  10. turn of the heat and stir Suji Halwa.
